More Groups: Speed up your GLPI group management

Eight months after our last plugin release Access Transparency, here we are again with our 14th public GLPI Plugin: More Groups.

Picture this. Your GLPI on-call group on a Friday afternoon. Standard GLPI forces you to completely delete a membership link just to take someone off the active shift, wiping out their custom flags in the process. While LDAP/AD sync handles automated group provisioning fine, it is not an option for manual, fast-moving shift tweaks or local GLPI groups.

• The On-Call Shift Swap: You manage the weekend incident team as a group Manager. Somebody goes on parental leave or swaps shifts for a few weeks. If you delete him from the group, GLPI forgets he was ever a Manager, leaving you to manually reconstruct his rights when he returns. With More Groups, you pause his membership in one click, and restore his Manager role intact when he’s back.
• Weekly Rotations & Sudden Sick Leave: A support team rotates on-call duty every single week, or someone calls in sick five minutes before their shift starts. Since AD sync isn’t an option for these manual schedule changes, you’d normally have to delete members and re-add them from scratch. Instead, you simply deactivate them. They move to a separate Deactivated users panel, keeping your active roster clean while preserving their setup.
