La beta de Gapp 3 ya está disponible (¡por fin!)

The wait is nearly over. We are thrilled to announce that the Gapp 3 Beta and Gapp Essentials GLPI 11 plugin are officially open for testing!

¿Por qué tardó tanto en salir?

Life at Gapp has been… intense. Between adapting to the new GLPI 11 HLAPI and managing a rapidly growing company, our team has been moving mountains of new development.

Maintaining over 100 plugins is a huge effort that requires constant attention. However, the biggest factor was the Jewel in the Crown: Gapp White Label. We realised it didn’t make sense to release the Self-Service version without its big brother being ready, too. They are two sides of the same coin, and we wanted to ensure the foundation was rock-solid for both.

There was also a lot of internal debate about which features to migrate, whether it made sense to do so, and other complex variables that had nothing to do with the code itself. Maybe one day I’ll be able to share those stories, but for now, I’ll leave you with a bit of mystery.

1. 1. No hemos hecho grandes actualizaciones en la interfaz, así que tu experiencia será exactamente la misma.

   La no tan buena noticia

   • • La paradoja del autoservicio: Los usuarios de autoservicio no pueden crear tickets. La razón es la increíble función de catálogo de autoservicio en GLPI 11. Ya no hay una forma sencilla. Desarrollar esta función requerirá más esfuerzo del que nos parece.
     • Algunas otras funciones nuevas pueden no estar soportadas. Nuevas opciones de satisfacción, o plantillas de validación, se convirtieron en un gran problema para nosotros.

     Problemas y comportamientos conocidos

     Since this is a beta, there are a few technical quirks you should know before diving in:

     • • Problemas con Docker: Gapp Essentials es actualmente un poco exigente con su entorno. Hemos comprobado que puede tener problemas con la imagen oficial de Teclib’ en Docker. Para una experiencia fluida durante esta beta, recomendamos encarecidamente usar la imagen de Dioux. La carpeta del marketplace debería estar segura, pero aparentemente no siempre está en GLPi 11.

       Cómo empezar

       If you’re ready to help us iron out the bugs, follow these steps:

       1. 1. Asegúrate de utilizar un entorno compatible
          2. Descarga el plugin beta, manualmente o desde el marketplace.
          3. Ponlo en tu glpi /marketplace carpeta.
          4. Rompe cosas. En serio. Cuantos más comentarios nos des sobre fallos o fallos en la interfaz, mejor será la versión final.
