12 Years of TICGAL: Looking back to what we have done and celebrating
It took me a while to get around to writing this, but I really wanted to carve this milestone into the soft stone of our own website the 12 years of TICGAL milestone. Social media feeds move so fast and vanish in an instant, but a twelve-year journey deserves a permanent place to live.
So, a few days ago, we finally hit pause. For a day, we parked our support tickets, developments, and meetings to celebrate something that means a lot to me: TICGAL’s 12th anniversary.
Over the last twelve years, we have spent our days focused on IT support and software, but I have always believed that the heart of what we do is the people. To mark the day, we got (almost) the whole team together for a proper day out, mixing a bit of competition with great local food and a lot of laughs.
We started the day at Karting Racing Dakart. The racing was close, the banter was brilliant, and it definitely brought out a competitive side in a few of us. As always, some of those who talked a big game beforehand didn’t quite deliver on the track—it turns out that much boasting is never a good idea! 😉
Afterwards, we desperately needed a feed, so we headed over to Furancho do Laranxo for a traditional team lunch. For those unfamiliar with Galician culture, a furancho is a wonderful local tradition—essentially a temporary, rustic tavern set up in a neighbour’s cellar or garage to sell their surplus home-made wine alongside simple, traditional tapas. Mind you, some of our younger team members aren’t the biggest fans of the wine, but I certainly am! 😉

We eventually wrapped up the day watching the sunset with some stunning coastal views of Praia da Lanzada from Terraza Corsario. We did lose a few assets along the way as the long day took its toll, but the more resistant of us made it to the terrace to finish the day in style.
We also put together a short video capturing some of the best moments and overtaking manoeuvres of the day.
Twelve years later
More than a decade after this journey started, I am proud that we still keep our feet firmly on the ground. Quite literally, in this case, even if we spent most of our anniversary speeding around on four wheels or staring out at the sea.
Our goal is exactly the same as it was on day one: to be an approachable, down-to-earth team, committed to innovation, but always keeping technology at the service of people.
I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been part of the TICGAL story over the last 12 years—our team members, both past and present, and of course, our clients and partners. Thank you for making all of this possible. Here is to the next chapter!
